  1. Agenda and former minutes

No remarks were received on the last minutes, and the agenda is validated without changes.

  1. Next event: Reagan Library

A new effort will be caried out to spread the word and ensure broad attendance, especially with the informative general meeting being part of the agenda.

  1. Website and communication with LACC members

Update on the work done on the website. Request by a consular staff member: can we use the website as a bulletin board, e.g. for advertising a car sale upon departure ? Approved by the Executive Committee, under the condition that the announcement is made by consular staff and that it does not concern commercial operations. The Secretary is tasked with finding the best way to display the bulletin board on the website.

  1. Incident at L.A. Philharmonic

The Dean will send a letter to L.A Philharmonic to obtain more information and to ensure that events such as occurred on May 29 don’t happen again.

  1. Incorporation and by-laws

More information will be collected on how other Consulates General in the US and the Embassies in Washington D.C. are organised (incorporated or not). Also, in the case the current incorporation is maintained, we need to find out wether the old by-laws (dating from the Delaware incorporation) are still valid or not (as the Second Vice Dean insisted upon, see minutes of the LACC Executive Committee meeting on March 30, 2015. The discussion will be continued in a future meeting.

  1. Impact of the opening of the Consulate General of Lithuania on the position of treasurer of the Executive Committee

Hon. Daiva Navarrette has indicated that she intends to resign as the treasurer after the Reagan Library visit and over summer break. The transition to a new treasurer will require a bit more time, as signature on the accounts has to be transferred. Meanwhile, the Dean will request Hon. Daiva Navarrette to continue to carry out her current function of treasurer.

Los Angeles, June 11, 2015.
